Arun Mohanty, Director

Prof. Arun Mohanty,  Chairperson of School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and Director, Eurasian Foundation, New Delhi. He has been awarded the prestigious Pushkin Gold Medal by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev for his contribution to studies on Russia and promotion of bilateral cultural ties and friendship between India and Russia.

His expertise is in Russian Economy, Security and Foreign Policy Issues and, Indo-Russian Bilateral Relations. He has taught at Moscow State University, Moscow City Pedagogical University and Moscow International University, Moscow. He has worked in Russian media – Moscow Radio World Service, for seven years in various positions. He was Moscow correspondent of India Abroad News Service for several years. He has authored Genesis of Russia’s Market Reforms (2003), Russia in Agony (1999), Indo-Russian Relations from Yeltsin to Putin (2001), and edited India-Russia: Strategic Partners (2002), India-Russia: Dialogue of Civilizations, Reflections on Moscow’s Post-Soviet Foreign Policy, Russian Civilization, Contemporary Kazakhstan: the way Ahead and Evolution of Parliamentarism in Post-Soviet Russia. He is a member of Russian Academy of Social Sciences, named after Peter the Great, Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and Russia-CII committee. Sumant Swain

Sumant Swain, Deputy Director

Dr. Sumant Kumar Swain is a Deputy Director of Eurasian Foundation, New Delhi. Dr. Swain, a Ph.D from Jawaharlal Nehru has also assigned as an Executive Editor of Eurasian Report and Post-Doctoral Fellow at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. He has expertise in Central Asia and Russian political system, foreign policies and strategic interests, CIS and India energy security, Health and development issues. He has edited a book titled Contemporary Kazakhstan: The Way Ahead (2009), Contemporary Odisha: Realities and Vision (2011), Naxal Movement: An Ideological Conflict (2011) and Clean Energy Options and Nuclear Safety: An Indian Perspective (2012) along with written many research papers. He has visited two times (2007, 2010) to Institute of Oriental Studies under Russian Academy Of Sciences, Moscow as a research fellow in different assignments under Indo-Russian Cultural Exchange Program by Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi. He was also a recipient of General Fellowship from ICSSR for his study on Indo-Russian Relations: The issue of Energy Security. Nihar Ranjan Das

Dr. Nihar Ranjan Das is a Senior Research Fellow working at Eurasian Foundation. Previously he was working as a Research Fellow at the Indian Council of World Affairs, New Delhi and Council for Social Development, New Delhi. A Doctorate from School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, he has specialised on security and strategic issues pertaining to South Asia. Shakti Pradayini Jena

Dr. Shakti Pradayani Jena has completed her Ph.D from School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She is currently working as Asst.Professor, Political Science at RLA College Delhi University, New Delhi. Her research interests are focused on political process, democratisation and institution-building in the post-communist Europe and Russia.

 

 

 

  

Gyana Ranjan Panda

Dr. Gyana Ranjan Panda possesses Master's degree in Political Science from Utkal University and M. Phil and Ph.D in International Relations and Diplomacy from Jawaharlal Nehru University (India). He had earlier worked with the National Centre for Educational Research and Training, doing research on various aspects of education. He is employed in Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability (CBGA) in which he is involved in research pertaining to public policies, public budgeting and climate change. He has led CBGA's work on demystifying the budgets and budgetary processes in other South Asian countries particularly Nepal, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
